Water – 1 ½ cup
40 g chana dal
2-3 green chillies
10 g fresh coriander , chopped
½ teaspoon mustard seeds
½ teaspoon cumin seeds
A pinch of asafoetida
Sugar- 3 g
5 ml oil
Few curry leaves
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon coconut milk
Soak chana dal overnight.
Boil roughly chopped tomatoes with dal , green chillies and sugar.Remove , cool and blend with the same water used for boiling. Strain the mixture.
In a soup pot / kadai , heat oil. Add asafoetida , cumin seeds , mustard seeds , curry leaves and sauté.
Add the strained tomato mixture. Bring to a bowl. Remove any scam that floats. Add salt as per taste.
Remove from fire and serve hot garnished with coriander leaves and coconut milk.
